EarthLoom Stories
From Rochelle, 7th Grade
Dear Susan Barrett Merrill,
I'm a seventh grade student named Rochelle and I attend Troy A. Howard Middle School. I'm in Mr.Tanguay's class, so I participated in making the beautiful earth loom that's in our garden. I just saw your new EarthLoom website which I got your address from. It looked fantastic!
In Mr. Tanguay's class we get assigned to jobs for the year. Mine is to create a class lesson over something we've done during the year. It took me awhile but than it came to me. I was so impressed with the earth loom by not only how pretty it looked but also how it helped us work together. The extra bonus was that it made the entrance to the garden more welcoming.
I thought of teaching students how to make miniature earth looms for their own garden, no more than 2 feet tall. I would like to encourage the kids to use the loom in any other way they would like to use them (like you had mentioned in our class).
I was wondering If i could use your type of design to help me with setting up this project. Any ideas you might have for me with my project would be most appreciated.
[ELF: Of course we say YES!]
When you have the time can you respond to my letter via e-mail. I'd appreciate it a lot. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Rochelle
